Information Services & Adult Programming

WWPL's Information and Reference Services Department offers a variety of programs, classes and materials. There are two book discussion groups that meet once a month as well as an online book club accessible anytime. The outreach program serves two local retirement communities and the home bound. The literacy program offers English as a Second Language (ESL) for all ages with skilled tutors and convenient class meeting times.


Recurring Classes

Watercolor Painting Class: Talented artist Jan Roland teaches a class in Watercolor Painting and Techniques on the third Thursday of each month @ 10:15 AM. No previous art experience is necessary, and the class fee of $12 includes all materials. You must preregister by calling (317) 896-9391.

Intro to eBooks: With the explosion of e-readers such as the Nook, Kindle, iPad and all the various apps to use with them, you may want to try the free books the library has to download to your reading device. "Intro to E-Books" is a new class we are offering that shows you how to search for, download and read e-books for free from the library website! Dates are listed to the left. Contact Information/Reference Services at 317-896-9391to register for this free class, and be sure to bring along your reader!

Facebook Fundamentals: Want to get started on Facebook? Already have a Facebook account but not sure what to do next? Come to "Facebook Fundamentals," a class for beginners that teaches you to set up your page, manage privacy settings, and connect with friends and family! Learn to update your status and add a photo, all while you interact with others online. An email address is required to register for Facebook, but the class is free. Dates are listed to the left. Space is limited, so please register by calling Information/Reference Services at 317-896-9391.

English as a Second Language: Do you know someone who would like to learn or improve their English skills? WWPL offers free ESL classes for levels of speakers from beginning to advanced. The Westfield Washington Public Library Euchre Group the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of every month @ 5:30 PM. Come and enjoy a relaxing evening of fun with some great people at this free program.


Genealogy Group

Join the Westfield Genealogy Club on the 1st Saturday of every month @10:15 AM and share ideas, new Web sites and sources about family history, as well as meet some terrific people. The club meets the first Saturday of every month in the Sumner Room, and all genealogists are welcome to become members.
