The Westfield Washington Public Library's Children's Department is a place to find award winning children's books and much, much more. We have Homeschool classes offered quarterly for little or no fee. There are story times for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged kids. Themed holiday programs and events based on literary characters are some of our younger patrons favorite activities. For the current generations that have grown up with technology, we have four early literacy computer stations, an Xbox, and a Wii. The Lego Mindstorm team is another great outlet for the imaginative and technologically inclined. We also have clubs for American Girl fans and Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh enthusiasts.

Indiana Digital Media eReading Room for Kids
WWPL has expanded its services with a new digital collection website experience just for kids. The main digital collection, now has a separate site to provide a safe and easy browsing experience for kids. We recognize the need to provide a safe environment for kids to browse library materials. Just as the children's section of the physical library is sectioned off, the same experience is now available on the digital collection.
The Kid's Collection site filters the overall digital collection to just show Children's and Young Adult content, which gets kids to the titles they want faster! This appealing and user-friendly page contains eBooks, audiobooks, music and video. Browsing can be done by subject, reading level or interest level. This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for users with a library card. Digital titles are available anytime, anywhere and expire automatically, so no need to worry about late fees!
Magazine: Kids Discover
Kids Discover Magazine was founded in 1991 by a publishing professional and devoted parent with a great idea. And today, more than 20 years later, they're still a family-owned media company with a mission and a passion—educating and entertaining kids aged 7 to 12.
You may have noticed that new issues aren't showing up on the magazine shelf lately because their print magazine is no longer available as of September 2014. Their commitment remains the same today as on the day they launched: to turn curious kids into lifelong learners by exposing kids to all the wonders in the world. Visit their website for free articles and downloadable resources!
